From 18 August you can register online for the Investor Days event on the website https://investordays2021.b2match.io/

‘Investor Days: innovative startups and SMEs meet investors’, a phygital event to be held on 28 and 29 October, is aimed at the world of innovative startups and SMEs from Lombardy, Italy and abroad.

The first day (10/28), at Palazzo Lombardia, will be dedicated to a conference on the topic of funding for start-ups and scale-ups, followed by two online pitch sessions and online meetings between SMEs, innovative start-ups and investors (B2I) and corporate representatives (B2B) on the b2match platform, which will continue on the second day (10/29).

To participate in the event, it is necessary to register on the event website. Operators interested in participating in the pitches and b2b meetings, should insert their own detailed profile, highlighting the characteristics of the investment offered/marketed.

Due to the limited time available, the investors will select companies to participate in the pitches.

The objectives

The event aims to support the growth path of companies by facilitating access to risk and debt capital; to encourage investments in innovation projects by innovative start-ups and SMEs; to foster the launch of collaborations between innovative start-ups/SMEs and corporations in response to specific innovation challenges.

The two-day event therefore looks at innovative start-ups and scale-ups with significant growth prospects in international markets.

In particular, but not exclusively, SMEs will be involved that have submitted proposals on the EIC Accelerator/SME Instrument of Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe, obtaining a Seal of Excellence (a European Commission quality label for proposals that receive a rating above the minimum eligibility threshold but are not funded due to lack of funds).

The other protagonists will be national and international investors (Venture Capital Funds, including those selected by the AlpGIP Fund, Social Ventures, Business Angels, financial intermediaries) and national/international corporations, also in synergy with the Open Challenges launched in collaboration with the Lombardy Region on this platform.

The initiative is promoted by the Lombardy Region's Directorate-General for Education, Universities, Research, Innovation and Simplification; by the Region's finance company Finlombarda S.p.A., a member of the SIMPLER consortium; and by the AlpGIP Fund, a platform for the Alpine macro-region structured as a fund of funds with the participation of the Lombardy, Piedmont, Aosta Valley, Liguria and Bolzano Regions.

Partners in the initiative are the EEN - Enterprise Europe Network, the Regions participating in the AlpGIP Fund, EIF - European Investment Fund and AIFI - Italian Association of Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt.
